Day 1: You will arrive in Stillbaai in the early afternoon, settle into the accommodation, and do quick bike checks to make sure everything is ready. Late afternoon we will go off to Inverroche for a gin tasting and then spend our evening around the braai, breaking the ice and getting to know one another. Your guides will present an overview of the route for the next week

Day 2: The riding begins!

7:00 – Early morning: A light breakfast will be served, and then we will hop onto the bikes, as we take the road up the coast, from Stillbaai towards Witsand, enjoying the scenery and even spotting some rare game and endangered cranes along the route if we are lucky. A relatively easy 80kmwill see us arriving in Witsand around lunchtime. After lunch, the rest of the day will be a leisurely time to relax on the beach, or maybe try our luck at catching some mullet in the estuary.

Day 3: A day full of highlights.

07:00 – Breakfast of your choice. We will then make our way up the Breede river towards the ferry crossing at Malgas, and then continue into the De Hoop nature reserve. We will enjoy the rare feeling of epic trail riding in a nature reserve like De Hoop, before ending the day off at our overnight stop on the shores of the De Hoop Vlei. In the evening, we will be treated to a proper lamb braai, enjoying some of the region’s best free-range produce (Vegan and Vegetarian options available). The total distance we will cover will be about 80km, but will vary based on the trail conditions in De Hoop – there are various options to make sure our day runs smoothly.

Day 4: Goodbye De Hoop, hello Aghulas.

07:00 –  breakfast served by the team at De Hoop, and then we willsay goodbye to De Hoop, and make our way through the reserve and back to the district roads, and then continue on via Bredasdorp, towards Arniston. Day 4 is another 80km day, and we will arrive in the fishing village of Arniston just in time to enjoy some of the best fish and chips on the planet for lunch (12:30). After lunch, we will go and have a look around at Waenhuiskrans, before loading the bikes up, and taking the shuttle through to our overnight stop at Aghulas.

Day 5: From the southern tip of Africa.

On day 5, we will we head inland a little again, as we make our way from the lighthouse at the southern tip of Africa towards the old mission town of Elim, where we will spend the night. The night before we will have chosen whether to take the a short and easy 44km ride, or (for those that still have diesel in the tanks) the slightly longer scenic route, totalling 68km.

Day 6: Last day of riding is a choose your own adventure of hills and scenes to die on a hill for…

Day 6 is our final riding day, and after a scrumptious farm breakfast, we will set off on one of two choices of routes to our final destination of Stanford. The one is a 40km fast and “flat” route and the second isa 71km tough ride. The 71km ride is worth it for the views alone – but there is some serious climbing involved. After arriving in Stanford, and freshening up, you can take a walk around the town, appreciating the art and history of this heritage village. In the late afternoon, we will do a sunset boat cruise on the Klien River Lagoon, and then enjoy a massive feast to celebrate the end of our awesome journey.

Day 7: Time to say goodbye

9:00 – Breakfast is served a little late to allow for some delicious late sleeping, after which the shuttle will leave for Cape Town. We will then drop you at the airport, or for locals, we can arrange a drop off at home.
